Julie Trout is an interdisciplinary artist, educator, and arts advocate. For over twenty years she has taught in both private and public schools as a classroom teacher that used art to teach transitioning many years ago to her true passion of leading with arts education. In 2012, Julie was ESD 121 Regional Teacher of the Year.
Currently she is the visual arts teacher and arts team lead at John Muir Elementary located in the Rainer Valley of Seattle. Additionally she has led both art making sessions and professional developments for educators emphasizing art as a form of resistance and arts integration. Her goals as an educator are to facilitate a joyful and positive environment that cultivates curiosity and empowerment.
