Casting and Video Editing Intern, Teatro ZinZanni Seattle

The Casting and Video Editing internship offers a unique opportunity to gain experience both in filming and editing video footage in support of Teatro ZinZanni's top-class theatrical, cabaret and culinary production. Through exposure to performer scouting and casting as well as hands on filming and editing work, the intern will experience the behind-the-scenes work involved in casting and oversight of the video archival system for a fast-paced, international and non-traditional theatrical production. The intern will also be charged with organizing the performer video library as well as filming, burning, copying and organizing show footage.
Responsibilities
o Filming the show and editing the footage for various casting, archival and marketing purposes.- Organize and maintain the artist video library and show archive.
Work to provide footage of shows as needed for changeovers.
Help to organize and evaluate prospective artist video submissions and make recommendations of artists with appropriate skills for ZinZanni.
What additional support will this person provide for your department? Please list specific responsibilities. Respond to casting inquiries. Maintain the artist database; data entry. Track prospective artist information including available acts, performance schedule, avails, etc. Burn/copy dvd's of archived shows and act footage as needed for distribution to the Creative Team. Additional administrative support as needed, filing, copying, etc.
What base skills or experience will this person need to be ready for this learning experience? Experience with Final Cut Pro 6.0, Compressor, DVD Studio Pro, iDVD. Experience with Handbrake a plus, as is any Videography experience. Must submit a demo reel, via mail or a web link. Mac skills i.e. troubleshooting and data organization as well as general working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Strong communication and writing skills. Great interpersonal and time management skills. Extremely organized and detail oriented. Ability to speak French, German or Russian a plus.
