Teatro ZinZanni presents a full evening of entertainment, combining cirque artists, European cabaret, contortionists, jugglers and illusionists with live music and a gourmet five-course meal. Set in an antique jewel box tent imported from Belgium, "Love, Chaos & Dinner" is located on San Francisco's scenic Embarcadero. Teatro ZinZanni was created and produced by One Reel, a Seattle-based not-for-profit organization, in 1998.
All internships will provide an opportunity to learn basic functions of how to collect, sort and organize patron information to create new audience programs and increase attendance, as well as sales and promotions strategies, prospect lead generation, branding and advertising. Interns will learn valuable skills including repeat customer list generation, information administration, advanced customer service, web-based and guerilla team marketing. Interns will gain experience with customer relational databases, data mining and reporting. Interns will learn first-hand about industry trends, target audiences and how to reach them, and the basics of creative development and project management of sales initiatives and patron retention. All interns will also gather market intelligence and compile research information from a variety of sources, including Internet research and file searches provide general support to the department.
We are currently accepting Intern applications for our Spring 2009 season. Preference will be given to applicants who can start immediately.
Responsibilities
MARKETING - This internship will:- Assist in creation and execution of promotions and street marketing initiatives
Research and develop partner mailing lists
Assemble presentation media kits as needed
Assist planning and hosting special events and/or openings

Minimum two years undergraduate education with successful completion of coursework in one or more of the following: arts administration, marketing, communications, or journalism
Highly effective written and verbal communication skills
Flexibility and ability to work within tight deadlines
Good organization skills; able to document your work
Mac computer literate, with a working knowledge of database systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and spreadsheet applications
Experience in sales, promotions, or media desirable
Familiarity with desktop publishing programs very desirable

Teatro ZinZanni will help as much as possible in tailoring internships to meet the credit requirements of individual schools. However, the responsibility for all arrangements for academic credit is in your hands.
Interns receive a small semi-monthly stipend. Housing is not provided. No paid or free parking is available; the site is accessible by public transportation. Internships are typically 15-20 hours per week, with an average duration of 4-6 months.
